Hip-Hop

Hip-Hop is a dance for young people keen on funky, soul, R&B, rap - simply black music. It came to life in the ghettos of the US as a means of emancipation and self-assertion of Afro-American population.

These days hip-hop has become the folklore of townspeople and is part of our everyday life (take style of clothing, graffiti, disco clubs, media).

The hip-hop style traces its roots back to jazz dance characterised by the technique of isolations, excentricity, swiftness and the 4/4 beat especially. The dancer tries to keep within this rhythm his/her movements and gestures (off beat), which are either given (we teach styles Locking, Popping, C-wolk, Harlem shake etc.), or sought for in free-style improvisation.

Compositions thus created, the so-called commercial hip-hop dance & show dance, are performed at the end of each semester on the event titled "Result" - this is where you can show what you have learnt during the semester. So if you want, do not hesitate to come and dance with us.
