INTIMACY

Intimacy is a project of dance-dramatic art by Tangere Dance Company.
The group draws on classical and contemporary movement material.
This project is based on the novel by the contemporary British novelist Hanif Kureishi who
in his books uncovers the apocalyptic architecture of cities, delinquencies, feminist self-awareness and mens
frustration, all of which result in a picture of the deteriorating institute of marriage, of bitter lives.
It tells the story of the main hero, Jay who is about to abandon his wife and two sons.
The novel is an intimate record of the last night he spends in his house.
During this night he reassesses his whole life and seeks an explanation and excuse for his deed.
Intimacy is a unique and at the same time cruel contemporary testimony of an irreversibly destroyed
relationship between two people, with a complete lack of intimacy that is fundamental to love and marital understanding.
The visual designer of the project is designer Pavol Cejka.
The authors made use of video art in the form of montage.
Pavol Cejka also composed the electric-acoustic music that contributes to the overall contemporary picture.
The artistic leader and choreographer of the project is Jan Gonscak.
