Flamenco jazz - "flamencove arte" is the free expression of ones sense of rhythm, of temperament and musical awareness. For we are not Spaniards, we do not dance pure flamenco ("flamenco puro").

Our dance is inspired by the profuse rhythmic forms of flamenco (2/4, 4/4, 3/4, 6/8); and these we modify. The lessons are built methodically in order to familiarise the attendants with the rhythms of this music and let them improve on expressing these by means of stamps "zapateados" and handclaps "palmas". These we combine to create diversity and make the movements very much dancelike.

In our classes, special attention is devoted to a complex preparation of the upper limbs, "port de bras" (postures and switching of the arms/hands), moving the trunk, posing, the technique of rotations and the dynamics of music identical with that of dance compositions. Our flamenco is contemporary, developing the most variable creative skills of expressing the rhythm and the feel for its different forms. These lessons are intended for men and women of all ages, irrespective of their talent or previous experience. Our main aspiration is to make you enjoy movement and dance.
