FAQ1.What should I wear to the lessons?
Each class is different in this regard.. For Flamenco jazz you will need high-heeled shoes, ladies wear long skirts. For modern or contemporary dance, or yoga, terry socks or soft dancing shoes will suffice. In general, you will need comfortable and loose clothing, which will not put a limit on your movement. 2. I have not danced yet, I am 35 years old and I would like to try something new.
You can start learning to dance at any age. What’s most important is that you have decided to do something, to learn and gradually improve. There are students in our courses, who started dancing as adults and share the feeling that dance is rewarding for them, both physically and emotionally. For most of them, healthy dance movement presents a pleasant form of relaxation after a demanding working day.If you learn to dance, your ability to grasp musical forms improves as well. When you begin it will require a lot, but on the other hand, it will also bring you a lot, in the form of mental and physical gratification. 3.I used to dance when I was young, then I got married and completely devoted myself to my children. Now they are grown and self-reliant, and I finally have time for myself. Could I pick up dancing now?
If you feel that your body has lost some of its earlier shape or fitness, by regular training you will be able to get it back. We offer a number of lessons that can help you regain the fitness, shape of body or flexibility you had in your younger days. For instance you can begin with classical or modern dancing, or Feldenkreis’ method or yoga training. 4. I have come to Slovakia only for a 3-month stay. Can I attend some of the courses in your studio?
Yes, you can; we will adjust the price of the course to match the time of your stay. 5.I have no regular schedule, but I would like to try some of your classes. Is it possible that I study dancing even if I am able to come only occasionally, when my complex timetable allows me to?
The courses we offer are very open and variable. We usually offer 2, but you can, of course, decide to take only one lesson a week.Ideally you should attend 2 or 3 lessons per week.If a student does not come to classes regularly and skips a few weeks, s/he will be unable to keep up with the tempo of the courses later. 6.My physician advises me to pick up some training programme that would be an appropriate form of physical rehabilitation for me.
Parts of our curriculum are training programmes that could be useful to you and help you in this respect; they are lead by qualified teachers of dance. However, you had better tell your teacher openly about your health problems so that he can choose the right approach in your individual case. 7.My physician recommended that I do some sport on account that I am out of condition and have put on some weight, too. The problem is that I am not very keen on training programmes but I do like dance and music a lot.
Our introductory beginners’ lessons are really open to everyone.. Dancing can bring you a lot of joy and help you keep fit.We cannot promise, like commercials do, that your body will change into a model’s body. What we guarantee is that you will have fun and discover such capabilities of your body that you never dreamed of. 8.I am a young man and I would like to start learning to dance. There is a widespread belief though, that real men do not dance.
It is true that the majority of our students are women.Nevertheless, it is merely a prejudice to think that real men would not go in for dancing, to think that a real man cannot gain musical education or cannot express his emotions by means of this ancient art.Good examples are the Indian tribes in America, where the dances of real men were parts of religious ceremonies; or the Brazil dance called Capoeira, characteristic of which are acrobatics and dancelike rhythm. This martial dance has had a major influence on the playing technique of many world-famous football players. | ![]() |
