Afro Jazz

These afro-latino rhythmes will stir your blood.Afro-latino jazz is a mixture of African primitive dances, jazz dance and Latin American dances (cubanissimo) - salsa, mambo, cha-cha and the like.

It combines the technique of isolations with integrated work of the trunk, spine, legs and arms.
It is not the individual steps of these dances that we teach.
Our aim is to train the dancers body and prepare it for expressing different qualities of movement:
1. staccato - sharp and quick
2. legato - bound and fluent
3. isolating different body parts
4. coordination
5. sense of rhythm - off beat

Thereby the dancer gains the ability to express freely and limitlessly the sense and rhythmic structure of afro-latino music. This structure of lessons with a wide scale of movement experiences, and its holistic approach to the body map, are more rewarding for our body and mind than the mechanical repeating of steps would be.

The drumbeat and the pulsation of your heart will gradually evoke rhythms inside you.The energy will lift you onto the wave of liberation and take you back to spontaneity.
If you want to drag your body out of slowness, lethargy and triviality, to stop being unnatural, stilted, and negative, come and spend 90 minutes of your freetime dancing with us.
